A Run with a Splash of Colour

I would like to thank you all, for embracing our first ever Colour Run, with such enthusiasm. I hope that this event will act as a catalyst for our students to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

The Colour Run is all about having fun, getting involved and being active with a focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle and improving health and wellbeing. Everyone came to school excited on Friday the 30th of November, in their clean, white T-shirts. Students ran through an obstacle course including:

After the run, students were rewarded with a sausage sizzle. Each year level ran through before we finished with a teacher’s race. The students enjoyed this part a little too much as they were given the opportunity to get the teachers covered in colour.

At the very end, everyone gathered together to perform a ‘colour throw’ where each individual throws an array of colours into the air, it was such a vibrant and beautiful scene. Seeing everyone’s smiles and all the students covered from head to toe with paint was amazing. Overall, everybody loved the event and we were able to raise more than $1200.

Thank you to everyone who helped setting up behind the scenes, and to all those that generously donated. I would especially like to thank the Year 11 VCE PE students who helped organise the event. These events are what make our community very special. One of the things I love about being a part of Sirius College is that the staff work hard to develop student wellbeing. They also work equally hard to offer unique experiences that are fun and engaging.

Without students who accept challenges inside and outside the classroom, parents who recognise the importance of the different aspects in our school, and our dedicated staff, we could not possibly be the great school that we are today.
